Rodrigues Named SEC Golfer of the Week

Texas A&M standout Daniel Rodrigues was named a men's SEC Golfer of the Week following his exploits at the Arizona National Invitational Tournament.

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M standout Daniel Rodrigues was named a men's SEC Golfer of the Week following his exploits at the Arizona National Invitational Tournament.

Rodrigues tied for fifth place at the Arizona N.I.T. with a 15-under 201 on the famed Catalina Course at Omni Tucson National. His 15-under tally was a collegiate career best for a three-round tournament. After opening the tournament with a 2-under 70, Rodrigues posted a 66 and closed out with a season-best 65. His final round included six birdies in addition to an eagle on his final hole for the 7-under tally.

With his showing in Tucson, Rodrigues has back-to-back top five finishes and three consecutive top 10 results. The native of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, finished ninth at the talent laden Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate and closed out the fall with a fourth place showing at the Furman Intercollegiate.

Rodrigues earned his second SEC Golfer of the Week recognition. He earned the honor after winning the Blessings Intercollegiate in fall 2022.

The Aggies return to action next Thursday at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate in Lihue, Hawai'i.
