BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 12 Texas A&M men's tennis team hosts Pepperdine and A&M-Corpus Christi Sunday, Feb. 25 at the Mitchell Tennis Center with first serves set for 1 p.m. and 6 p.m.
Â
"It is an opportunity to play at home in front of our crowd and we get to go back outdoors to play," head coach Steve Denton said. "Pepperdine is a very good team, and we will need to adapt quickly to the different conditions. Playing A&M-Corpus Christi is a homecoming for head coach Steve Moore who was the assistant under Tim Cass. They do a great job of competing hard with good fundamentals so we will be severely tested on Sunday."
Â
The Maroon & White (7-2) return to the court after advancing to the quarterfinals of the 2024 ITA Indoor National Championships. They defeated No. 4 South Carolina, 4-1, and then fell in two tough matches to No. 2 TCU and No. 14 Arizona to complete their stay in New York.
Â
The Aggies will take on Pepperdine (2-5) for the second-consecutive year. A&M defeated the Waves, 4-2, last season at the 2023 ITA Kickoff Weekend.
Â
A&M won the last match against the Islanders, 7-0, in Aggieland during the 2021-22 campaign. The Islanders are 8-2 on the season with its last win coming against UTRGV.
