NASHVILLE – Texas A&M's Wade Taylor IV earned a spot on the SEC's All-Tournament Team after scoring a tournament-best 82 points while leading the Aggies to the semifinals for the third straight season, the league announced on Sunday.
Â
Taylor, from Dallas, averaged 27.3 points against Ole Miss, Kentucky and Florida and tallied 30-point efforts against Kentucky (32) and Florida (30). He also led the tournament with 14 3-pointers, which tied for the second most in SEC history behind the 18 by Auburn's Bryce Brown in 2019. Taylor hit 16-of-17 free throw attempts and also ranked among the tournament leaders with 11 assists.
Â
It's the second straight season that Taylor has earned All-Tournament honors. He is the first Aggie to earn All-Tournament in consecutive years since 2009 Texas A&M Athletics Hall of Fame inductee Winston Crite did it in three straight years from 1985-87.
Â
Joining Taylor on the All-Tournament Team were: MVP Johni Broome (Auburn), Josh Hubbard (Mississippi State), Walter Clayton Jr. (Florida) and Chad Baker-Mazara (Auburn).
