No. 7 Aggies Drop Middle Game Against No. 21 Mississippi State

The No. 7 Texas A&M baseball team dropped game two of its three-game set with No. 21 Mississippi State 5-1 Friday evening from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The No. 7 Texas A&M baseball team dropped game two of its three-game set with No. 21 Mississippi State 5-1 Friday evening from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
 
Tanner Jones suffered the loss after allowing two runs in four innings of work. On the offensive end, Ali Camarillo was the lone Aggie to record a multi-hit performance on the night, finishing 2-for-4 at the dish.
 
The Aggies opened the scoring for the second straight night as Camarillo came through with a two-out RBI single in the second to plate Jackson Appel, who led off the frame with a double down the line in right.
 
In the fifth, the Bulldogs broke through on the scoreboard with a five-run frame to jump in front, 5-1.
 
The Maroon & White were held to three hits and failed to get a runner into scoring position for the remainder of the game as they fell, 5-1.

Inside the Box Score
  • Texas A&M totaled five hits and four walks on the night.
  • Ted Burton drew a game-high tying two walks on the evening.
  • As a staff, the Aggies struck out seven Bulldogs.
  • Brock Peery, Peyton Smith and Weston Moss each logged scoreless outings in relief.
  • Smith struck out a team-high three batters.
  • Shane Sdao also made an appearance for the Maroon & White and allowed three runs, two earned.
 Notes
  • Despite the loss, the Aggies still hold a 25-22 edge all-time against the Bulldogs.
  • Gavin Grahovac has now reached base safely in 12 straight contests.
  • The freshman has also logged a hit in eight consecutive games.

The rubber match of the three-game series is slated for tomorrow at 2 p.m. from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
