The Aggies and Tigers will meet for the 33rd time Thursday night. The Maroon & White hold a 17-15 edge in the series after taking two of three against Auburn a season ago on the road. At home, Texas A&M is 9-6 all-time against the Tigers. Â

The Aggies jumped back into the Top 5 across all five major polls after taking two of three against No. 21 Mississippi State last weekend. The Maroon & White are ranked as high as No. 4 in the D1Baseball, National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and USA Today Coaches polls.

Texas A&M will send the trio of LHP Ryan Prager, RHP Tanner Jones and LHP Justin Lamkin to the mound over the weekend. The weekend rotation has combined for an 8-1 record, a 2.19 ERA and 111 strikeouts in 17 starts this season. Lamkin (1.48) and Prager (1.67) currently rank inside the Top 30 nationally in ERA.

Prager, who has dominated in his return after missing all last season, ranks third nationally in wins (5), fifth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (12.25), eighth in WHIP (0.74), 17th in strikeouts (49) and 26th in ERA (1.67).

As a staff, the Aggies have thrived under first-year pitching coach Max Weiner. The Maroon and White enter the weekend ranked first nationally in shutouts (6), second in ERA (2.85), second in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.84), second in WHIP (1.11), fifth in strikeouts per nine (12.2), fifth in hits allowed per nine (6.81) and 12th in walks allowed per nine (3.18).

On the offensive end, Texas A&M sits second nationally in walks (187), 14th in home runs (47), 15th in on-base percentage (.439) and 17th in home runs per game (1.88). In the field, Texas A&M ranks second in the country in fielding percentage with a .985 mark. Newcomer Braden Montgomery has led the offensive attack for the Maroon & White as the junior leads the SEC and ranks second nationally in RBI with 40.
