BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M's Heather Abadie downed her own school record in the women's pole vault on the opening day of the 44 Farms Team Invitational Friday at E.B. Cushing Stadium.

Abadie highlighted the women's pole vault group, as she secured her fourth-straight win to start the outdoor season breaking her own school record with a clearance of 4.36m/14-3.5. Teammate Sevanna Hanson finished second with a season-best mark of 4.07m/13-4.25, while Ella Vajdos jumped two spots on the all-time performers list landing at No. 10, clearing a personal best 3.95m/12-11.5. On the men's side, Jack Mann III was the highest finishing Aggie, securing third with a leap of 5.28m/17-3.75.

Lianna Davidson dominated the women's javelin event, setting a new meet record with a throw of 57.09m/187-3 to finish first. Katelyn Fairchild secured third place, recording a mark of 53.84m/176-8 while her sister McKenzie Fairchild achieved a personal best with a toss of 51.10m/167-8. On the men's side, Sam Hankins clinched the javelin title breaking the meet record with a throw of 76.32m/250-5. His teammate Julian Stoicoviciu finished third with a personal best mark of 65.68m/215-6.

In women's discus, Abigail Martin secured her third-straight personal best performance with a toss of 59.44m/195-0. She now holds the seventh-longest throw in the nation and ranks first among all freshmen. Carlie Weiser also had a career day, climbing up five spots on the all-time performers list, throwing a personal best 54.54m/178-11 to secure No. 4 on the all-time list. On the men's side, Ethan Sanders entered the A&M record books at No. 11 with a personal best toss of 57.21m/187-8.

On the track, Nissi Kabongo equaled her season-best in the women's 400m hurdles in a time of 57.49, while Arveyon Davis ran a personal best of 53.61 in the men's event. In the men's 5000m, Aiden Gonzalez-Rodiles was the top finishing Aggie crossing the line with a personal best time of 14:44.34. On the women's side, Katelyn Buckley ran a season-best of 17:52.68.

Timara Chapman and Joniar Thomas got the day started for the Maroon & White, as they opened their heptathlon campaigns. Chapman secured 3745 points with personal best marks in all four events. Her day was highlighted in the high jump, where she cleared 1.79m/5-10.5 to land at No. 12 on the all-time performers list. She had another three best performances in the 100m hurdles (13.50), 200m (24.22) and shot put (13.63m/44-8.75). Thomas garnered a total of 3542 points on the first day, claiming a pair of personal bests in the 100m hurdles (13.61) and 200m (23.53).

On the men's side of the multi events, Blake Harris and Landon Helms wrapped up the opening day of the decathlon sitting first and second, respectively. Harris accumulated a total of 4030 points while winning all five events, including two personal best showings in the shot put (12.63m/41-5.25) and 100m (10.53). Helms concluded his day with a total of 3691 points and personal bests showings in the high jump (1.87m/6-1.5) and 100m (10.95).
