BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Behind a pair of home runs from Jace LaViolette, the No. 1 Texas A&M baseball team run-ruled Air Force (15-20), 15-5, in seven innings Tuesday afternoon in midweek action from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Â
The win marked the Aggies (33-4) fifth straight and 13th in the last 14 contests.Â

LaViolette powered the Maroon & White attack as the sophomore went 4-for-6 with two homers, a triple and five RBI. The multi-homer game marked the sophomore's sixth of the season and 10th of his career. Ted Burton (2-for-3) and Hayden Schott (2-for-4) also recorded a multi-hit performance and each plated a pair of runs in the victory.

Brad Rudis earned the win in relief after allowing one run in 1.1 innings of work. Starter Weston Moss earned a no-decision after striking out three and allowing one run in 1.2 frames.

The bats caught fire early for the Aggies as three runs came around to score in the opening frame on back-to-back jacks from LaViolette and Braden Montgomery. After a leadoff walk by Gavin Grahovac, LaViolette plated the freshman with a 468-foot homer over the train tracks in right. Montgomery followed with his 20th home run of the year that traveled 453 feet over the wall in center.

With the long ball, Montgomery became the fifth player in program history to reach the 20-homer plateau in a single season.

The Falcons evened the score at 3-3 following a solo homer in the second and a two-run blast in the third.

The Maroon & White jumped back in front, 5-3, in the fourth behind an RBI triple from LaViolette and an RBI single from Burton.

Following a solo homer from the Falcons in the top half of the seventh, freshman Jack Bell answered with a solo blast of his own to Section 12 in right center. The homer marked the first of the freshman's career.
