DALLAS – Texas A&M relief pitcher Evan Aschenbeck has been named to the Midseason Watch List for the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Stopper of the Year Award, which recognizes the top relief pitcher in NCAA Division I Baseball.

In 17 appearances this season, Aschenbeck holds a 4-0 record, six saves and a 1.79 ERA. The senior's six saves currently lead the SEC and rank 28th nationally. The lefty has also punched out 51 batters to only five walks in 40.1 innings of work.

Of Aschenbeck's 17 appearances, 15 have been for multiple innings and 11 of them have been scoreless outings.

Aschenbeck and the Aggies continue their five-game homestand Friday night against Georgia at 6 p.m. at Blue Bell Park.
