GAINESVILLE – The Texas A&M track & field team won three titles on the second day of the SEC Outdoor Championships Friday at the James G. Pressly Stadium at Percy Beard Track.

Timara Chapman continued her opening-day dominance in the heptathlon, winning the event with a total of 6,124 points. In today's final three disciplines, she claimed a pair of second-place finishes in the long jump (6.14m/20-1.75) and javelin (40.46m/132-9) and placed third in the 800m (2:19.68). Today's results paired with her three first-place results (100m hurdles, 200m and shot put) and a runner up finish (high jump) yesterday ensured her victory and SEC title.

Adding the second win of the day was Heather Abadie, as she secured the women's pole vault victory with a clearance of 4.30m/14-1.25. Her win today claimed the season sweep of the SEC pole vault titles after winning the indoor championship earlier this year. Her teammate Sevanna Hanson also had her best performance of the outdoor season, as she soared over 4.18m/13-8.5 for fifth overall in the event, and improved to No. 5 on the Texas A&M all-time performers list.

Victor Kibiego claimed the final victory of the day for the Maroon & White in the men's 3,000m steeplechase. He left the pack and didn't look back, as he crossed the line in 8:57.15. Jonathan Chung also secured a point for the team with an eighth-place result, finishing in 9:05.78. On the women's side of the event, Kennady Fontenot had the best finish of her young career at the SEC championships placing sixth in 10:18.66.

Landon Helms and Blake Harris wrapped up their decathlon campaigns placing fourth and fifth, respectively. Helms put together a career performance, accumulating a personal-best total of 7,309 points, while Harris was right behind with 7,280 points.

The men had another two point scorers in the field, as Carter Bajoit finished fourth in the men's high jump clearing 2.14m/7-0.25, while John Baker secured a fifth-place result in the long jump, leaping 7.61m/24-11.75.

A&M set themselves up for a busy final day, as it had another seven athletes qualify to tomorrow's finals. The men's 110m hurdles duo of Connor Schulman and Ja'Qualon Scott got the ball rolling, finishing second (13.38) and fourth (13.52), respectively. Jaiya Covington joined her teammates with a seasons-best time of 12.94 in the women's 100m hurdles.

Cooper Cawthra booked his ticket to the men's 1500m finals after winning his heat in 3:49.22 to qualify seventh overall.

Auhmad Robinson and Jevon O'Bryant advanced from the men's 400m prelims, after finishing 1-2 in their heat. Robinson qualified third overall after winning the heat in 45.47, while O'Bryant crossed the line in 45.52 grabbing the final spot in the championship final in ninth. Jermaisha Arnold was the last Aggie to book her ticket to the finals, crossing the line in the women's event in 50.91 for sixth overall.
