BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M's Vishnu Sadagopan earned a spot on the SEC Men's Golf Community Service Team announced with the league's annual awards.
The Pearland, Texas, product is active in a bevy of community service activities. His contributions include participating in Texas A&M REVved Up to Read Program which allows student-athletes to visit young students in the area to read and talk about the importance of literacy and education; and Aggies CAN which has grown into the largest student-athlete volunteer run canned food drive in the nation. The collections for Aggies CAN ar given back to families and organizations to help impact the Bryan-College Station area.
The junior is active in writing letters to families for Silver Taps, one of the most sacred and significant traditions at Texas A&M. He has participated in the Big Event, the Brazos Valley Parade of Homes and Texas A&M men's golf's annual volunteer maintenance day on the grounds and surrounding area of Traditions Club.
Sadagopan has played in 10 tournaments during his junior campaign with two top 20 performances. He posted a season-best showing at the Furman Intercollegiate with a 12th place finish.
Career accolades for Sadagopan includes PING All-Central Region in 2023 as well as claiming a spot in the Louisiana Classics All-Tournament Team as a sophomore.
The Pearland, Texas, native is a three-time member of the SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll as well as earning GCAA All-America status in 2023.
The Aggies return to action Monday with the NCAA Stanford Regional in California. The Maroon & White battled in a 14-team field at Stanford Golf Course with the top five teams advance to the NCAA Championship.
