Texas A&M track & field's Carter Bajoit and Brooke Forbes were named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Thursday.

BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M track & field's Carter Bajoit and Brooke Forbes were named to the SEC Community Service Team, the league announced Thursday.

Bajoit is a leader for the team in the field and the community, spreading his service on the local front and international stage. The senior most recently dedicated a great deal of service abroad, joining the Texas A&M Athletics Mission of Hope trip, where he and fellow student-athletes traveled to the Dominican Republic. The trip involved two core components, strategic ministry time and community advancement projects.

Bajoit also takes part in multiple local initiatives including AggiesCAN, the largest student-athlete volunteer run canned food drive in the nation, REVved Up to Read, reading and interacting with local students in the Bryan-College Station community and finally volunteering with the Aggieland Humane Society helping walk and care for local animals in the shelters.

Forbes has led by example in the local community this year, accumulating 16 hours of service across seven different initiatives in the Bryan-College Station area. She spreads her time across local nursing homes assisting people in need, TCM Community Cafe, Brazos Valley Food Bank and collecting and sorting athletic equipment for the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Similar to Bajoit, Forbes has also spent time at REVved up to Read, Aggieland Humane Society and Aggies Can.
