Denton Adds UTSA Transfer Pinho to 2024-25 Roster

Former UTSA standout Tomás Pinho will join the Aggie men's tennis team for the 2024-25 season, Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton announced.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Former UTSA standout Tomás Pinho will join the Aggie men's tennis team for the 2024-25 season, Texas A&M head coach Steve Denton announced.

The 6-foot-2 Oporto, Portugal native played two seasons for the Roadrunners, compiling 21-16 singles and 19-16 doubles records. Last season, Pinho posted a 10-8 record in singles, including a 9-6 mark at No. 3 singles, and posted a 5-4 worksheet at No. 1 doubles. He ended the 2023-2024 season ranked No. 78 in the ITA doubles ranking.

"We are thrilled to have Tomas Pinho on our team," Denton said. "I have seen him from afar and was very excited with his work ethic that will fit into our culture. Two years ago when Tomas came to play the Aggies, they upset us as he won his singles match. Tomas is a two-way athlete that can play both singles and doubles for us. With his experience, he will add much needed depth to our squad."
