FLUSHING, N.Y. – Texas A&M's Mary Stoiana earned a wild card spot for the 2024 U.S. Open Qualifying Tournament for the second year in a row, the USTA announced Wednesday. The event will be hosted at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from August 19-22.

The rising senior is coming off a record-breaking 2023-24 campaign, where she led the Maroon & White their first ever National Championship, claiming NCAA Tournament MVP in the process. She also led the Aggies to a third-straight SEC title. Stoiana climbed to the No. 1 spot in the ITA rankings in November and topped the charts the remainder of the year, finishing with 38 singles wins and 28 doubles victories.

The Southbury, Connecticut, native received numerous awards last season, including becoming the first Aggie to win ITA National Player of the Year. Stoiana also claimed back-to-back SEC Player of the Year honors and the Honda Sports Award for tennis.

The U.S. Open Qualifying Tournament features a draw of 128 women who play three rounds to determine 16 final spots in the U.S. Open singles tournament. Free for the public the qualifying tournament is a popular event for tennis fans.

All four days of the tournament will stream live on ESPN+ with select additional coverage on ESPNEWS and ESPN2.
