Aggies Open with a Successful Day in the Prequalifying Rounds at the ITA All-American Championship

The Texas A&M men's tennis team had a successful opening day in the pre-qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus on Saturday.

TULSA, Okla. – The Texas A&M men's tennis team had a successful opening day in the pre-qualifying rounds of the ITA All-American Championships at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the University of Tulsa campus on Saturday.
 
Senior Luke Casper took down Jakub Kroslak of Middle Tennessee, 6-3, 6-2 and is heading to the round of 64 to face Pierre Mouesca of Georgia Southern.
 
Junior Togan Tokac rallied to take down Gianluca Ballotta of UCLA, 6-7 (5), 6-1, 6-4. He is heading to the round of 64 against Romain Gales of Clemson.
 
Sophomore Tiago Pires came out victorious in two sets against Gabriel Castillo-Sanchez of the UT-Chattanooga. Pires advances to play against Dimitris Paliouras of Georgia Southern.
 
Graduate Matthis Ross went down against Mans Dahlberg of Virginia, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3. He will continue play in the consolation bracket.
 
The duo of sophomore Ritesh Patil/Ross fought a hard battle, but ultimately went down against Kristof Minarik/Alejandro Jacome of Wichita State, 6-7 (5), 6-2, 12-10. They will continue play in the consolation bracket.
 
Play will continue tomorrow with singles round of 64 and 32 as well as doubles round of 16 in the prequalifying round.
