BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Texas A&M's Joslyn Oakley and Victor Povzner each earned SEC Diver of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday. This is the first weekly honor of the season for Oakley and the second for Povzner.
Oakley started the week claiming the top spot on both springboards in A&M's win over Houston with a score of 306.90 on the 1-meter and 357.98 on the 3-meter. She continued her success with a first-place finish and career-best score on both boards in the win at TCU. Oakley's score of 337.15 on the 1-meter ranks as the third-highest score in program history, while her score of 395.80 on the 3-meter is the second-best all-time at A&M. The pair of victories on the week helped the Aggies move to an impressive 8-1 in dual meets this season.
Povzner led the way on the men's side to help keep the Aggies in contention in their lone meet of the week at TCU. He posted a score of 390.85 on the 1-meter and 427.10 on the 3-meter to sweep the springboards for the first time this season. Against the Horned Frogs, A&M secured the top three spots on both boards to help the team remain unbeaten in dual meets and boast a 7-0 record on the year.
Both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams return to action Saturday as they remain on the road and travel to LSU for a 10 a.m. dual meet.
