Pounds Paces Aggies at Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational

Sophomore finished elite tournament in 28th place.
FORT WORTH – The No. 19 Texas A&M men's golf team ended wrapped up action at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational tied with Georgia for 10th place at 24-over 864.
The field was logjammed in the middle with the Maroon & White finishing just two strokes out of seventh place where they started the day. Oklahoma won the team title at 10-under 830 while North Carolina's David Ford claimed medalist honors at 9-under 201.
Aaron Pounds carded the low round for the Aggies for the second time at the tournament. He registered a 2-over 72 to finish tied for 28th place at 5-over 221. Pounds ranked ninth in the field and led the Maroon & White with 11 birdies in three trips around the par-70, 7,289-yard course.
Phichaksn Maichon was next on the leaderboard at 7-over 217, putting him in a tie for 35th place. Michael Heidelbaugh and Wheaton Ennis finished tied for 46th place at 9-over 219 and Jaime Montojo rounded out the lineup in 53rd place at 10-over 220.
Texas A&M returns to action October 14-15 when the Aggies head to Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina, for the Qubein Cup.
