BATON ROUGE – The Texas A&M volleyball team concludes its three-match road stint Sunday as it faces LSU at the Maravich Assembly Center with first serve set for 1 p.m.
The Aggies are coming off their third-straight conference win and second-consecutive road victory, following a 3-1 victory at Ole Miss. A&M and the Rebels traded the opening two frames, but it was the Maroon & White who separated themselves to claim their 12th win of the season. Logan Lednicky once again was the star of the fixture, as she ensured back-to-back matches with a double-double after her 20 kill and 15 dig outing.
LSU is coming off a bounce-back win over Oklahoma on Friday, as it holds a 10-6 record entering the fixture and a 2-3 ledger in league play. With its last win, the Tigers are now 5-4 at home, while A&M is 6-1 playing on the road.
The teams have met 51 times in their history, with the Aggies holding a strong lead in the all-time series, 32-19. When playing in Baton Rouge, A&M boasts an 11-6 record including a 3-1 victory at the Maravich Assembly Center last season.
Following the first four matches of conference play, the Aggies rank second in the league in kills per set (14.06), assists per set (13.33) and opponent hitting percentage (.169). The group also ranks third in blocks per set (2.63) and fifth in hitting percentage (.270).
