FORT WORTH – Daria Smetannikov continued her run at the ITA Texas Regional Championship with a three-set victory over Texas Tech's Andreea Lila in Sunday's quarterfinal round at Friedman Tennis Center.

With the 6-1, 6-7 [6], 6-2 win, Smetannikov moved within one win of earning a spot at November's NCAA Individual Championships. It was the second three-set triumph of the tournament for the Marlboro, New Jersey, product.

Smetannikov battles Texas' Ariana Anazagasty-Pursuoo Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. With a victory she would join Mary Stoiana on the list of Aggies locked into the singles portion of the NCAAs.
