WACO – Both doubles duos representing the Texas A&M men's tennis team dominated against Texas Tech on Saturday at the Big 12-SEC Challenge at the Hurd Tennis Center.
Graduate Matthis Ross and senior Giulio Perego picked up their second win this weekend, taking down the No. 7 ranked doubles duo of Sebastian Abboud/Piotr Pawlak, 8-3.
Sophomore Ethan Silva and redshirt freshman Ritesh Patil had a dominating match against the duo of Tyler Stewart/Niksa Arsic, 8-0.
In singles play, the Aggies took on four players from Arizona. No. 93 ranked Perego took down No. 109 Casper Christensen in a two-set sweep, 6-3, 6-2.
Ross faced Zoran Ludoski in singles action, but came up short, falling 6-4, 6-1.
Silva went down against Inaki Cabrera-Bello, 7-6 (5), 6-2.
Patil fought hard in three sets but ultimately fell to Filip Gustaffson, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
The Aggies will conclude play at the Challenge tomorrow, Oct. 6, with doubles matches against Arizona and singles against Oklahoma State.
