LEXINGTON – The Texas A&M volleyball team fell to No. 13 Kentucky Friday evening in Memorial Coliseum, 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-14).

A&M (15-6, 6-5 SEC) came up short versus conference leader Kentucky (15-7, 9-2 SEC) in a hard-fought three sets. The Maroon & White battled late into the opening two frames before the hosts took control of the fixture in the third.

The match opened with back-and-forth scoring before the Aggies forged a three-point lead as they reached double digits, 10-7. A&M held its advantage behind efficient offense, as it had 11 kills with zero errors at the media timeout (15-12). Kentucky battled back, and despite fending off a set point, the Wildcats stole the opener, 25-22.

Following the trend of the first frame, the teams traded points and found level at 12. The Wildcats created a small gap as they led at the media break, 15-12. Kentucky held its rhythm and extended the lead to five, as head coach Jamie Morrison huddled his team up (21-16). The Wildcats continued and closed out the set (25-20) and doubled their advantage in the match, 2-0.

Kentucky carried its momentum into the third set, as coach Morrison gathered his squad (9-4). The Wildcats kept driving and took the set (25-14) and match, 3-0.
