TARRAGONA, Spain – Former Texas A&M golfer Dan Erickson closed out a grueling six-round performance at the DP World Tour Q-School Final Stage Wednesday to earn his card for the 2025 season.
The Whittier, California native fired an eagle on the final hole of the sixth round at Infinitum Golf Lakes Course to finish at 8-under 63 for the day. The heroic final round put Erickson in a tie for 12th place at 19-under 409, two strokes clear of the cutoff to secure a 2025 tour card.
The DP World Tour, formerly confined to the leading men's professional tour in Europe, has gone global with events in Africa, Asia, Australia and North America in addition to its home continent.
In 2024, Erickson grinded it out in the European Challenge Tour and the Sunshine Tour based in southern and eastern Africa.
Erickson was an All-SEC and PING All-Central Region performer during his time in Aggieland. He claimed All-SEC Second Team during the 2020-21 campaign and picked up All-Central Region in 2018 and 2020. Erickson was a two-time GCAA All-America Scholar and was named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll on three occasions.
As a super senior in 2020-21, he won the season-opening Border Olympics and earned top 10-finishes in five of his nine starts. His Border Olympics triumph earned Erickson Golfweek National Player of the Week and SEC Golfer of the Week. He also won the 2018 Louisiana Classics and finished runner-up at the 2019 Gopher Invitational and third at the 2018 Valspar Collegiate.
Erickson joins Nacho Elvira, Johannes Veerman and Andrea Pavan as Aggies on the DP World Tour full time for the upcoming season. The 2025 campaign will include a minimum of 42 Race to Dubai events across 26 countries over 12 months. It will close out with next year's Abu Dhabi Championship deciding the 50 players to advance to the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
