BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M volleyball team concludes its home slate as it hosts LSU Sunday afternoon in Reed Arena with first serve set for 2 p.m.
The Aggies host the Tigers for A&M's annual senior day, where it will honor Molly Brown and Ellee Stinson to close their home schedule. This fixture see's the conferences' fifth ranked Maroon & White (8-6) face eighth ranked LSU (6-8).
A&M's stout defense has been on show in conference play, as it holds third in the league in opponent hitting percentage (.192), fourth in blocks per set (2.40) and sixth in digs per set (13.31). The Tigers will look to pick their spots offensively, as they rank in the top half of the conference in hitting percentage (.233).
The teams have met 52 times in their history, with the Aggies holding a strong lead in the all-time series, 32-20. LSU won the most recent fixture, claiming a tightly fought five-set battle in Baton Rouge earlier this season. When playing in Reed Arena, A&M boasts an 11-8 record and is 9-3 at home this year.
Last time out, the Aggies put on a defensive clinic in their victory versus Georgia, as Ifenna Cos-Okpalla tied Kaitlyn Blake (2016) for the A&M record for blocks in a four-set match with 13 on the night. The Aggie junior's 13 spearheaded the team's 19 total as a team, also setting the programs' season high for blocks in a match this year.
Continuing to climb in the Maroon & White history books, Logan Lednicky's 14th kill versus the Bulldogs marked the 1,116th of her career and landed herself 15th on the Aggies all-time career kill list.
Entering their final home match of the season, the Aggies have been dominant playing in front of the 12th Man outscoring opponents by 120 points in the 12 fixtures.
