Mireles Advances to Flight 1 Finals

HOUSTON – No. 88 Jeanette Mireles claimed her sixth-straight singles victory Saturday to advance to the flight 1 finals of the Rice Invitational at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
Mireles faced Iowa State's Ashlee Narker in the flight 1 draw semifinals, defeating the Cyclone in three sets (6-4, 4-6, 4-1, ret.) to claim her seventh win of the season. Boyer fell to Houston's Sophie Schouten in the flight 3 semifinals, 6-4, 6-4.
Paired in doubles, the Aggies fell to Texas Tech's Elena Daskalova/Arina Oreschenkova, 6-3 and were downed by Iowa State's Maria De La Paz Alberto/Cristina Ramos Sierra, 7-6(6).
Next up in singles, Mireles faces Rice's Darya Schwartzman in the flight 1 finals, while Boyer takes on Iowa State's Maria De La Paz Alberto.
