BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M football's Tyler White has been named to the Freshman All-SEC Team, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.Â
Â
White has averaged 45.1 yards per punt, which leads the nation among freshmen, while 24 of his 42 punts have landed inside the 20. The redshirt freshman boasts a season-long 69-yard boom, which ranks second-longest in the SEC among all punters, and 11 boots have sailed 50-plus yards. The Southlake, Texas, native has only had three punts returned for 14 yards, recording six touchbacks.
Â
He garnered SEC Special Teams Player of the Week three times this season, the most by an Aggie punter since Braden Mann in 2018. White was also a Ray Guy Award Semifinalist and earned Ray Guy Award Punter of the Week recognition after he wedged four of his five punts inside the 20, while booting three 50-plus yards in Texas A&M's victory over LSU, 38-23.
Â
The Aggies return to action against USC on Dec. 27 at the SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is set for 9:30 p.m. on ESPN.
