
Mohseni Named to SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM - Texas A&M sophomore swimmer Shawn Mohseni was named to the 2024 SEC Men's Swimming & Diving Community Service Team, announced by the league office Tuesday. The community service team highlights a student-athlete from each league school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.
Mohseni excelled in his efforts, contributing 53 total community service hours. Most notably, he has dedicated 14 hours to the Aggieland Humane Society where he has spent time caring for sheltered dogs. Additionally, Mohseni has volunteered with Rev'ved Up to Read, where he has visited local elementary schools in the Bryan-College Station area to read books to local students. Mohseni has worked with multiple student-led organizations such as TAMU BUILD, where he has assisted in building Texas Aggie Medical Clinics as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the 1999 Aggie Bonfire incident, as well as AggiesCAN, the largest student-athlete volunteer run canned food drive in the nation. Other organizations Mohseni has volunteered with include TeamIMPACT, Special Olympics Texas and Sport For Kids Fest.
In addition to his work in the pool, classroom and community, Mohseni has served as a Traditions Night Huddle Leader as well as the team's SAAC representative. The Mansfield, Texas, native also completed the Brand U Professional Development Program last fall. Mohseni is working towards his degree in biomedical science and has earned Texas A&M Athletics Director and SEC First-Year Honor Roll achievements.
