Nelson Highlights Day Two at SEC Championships

AUBURN – The Texas A&M men's swimming & diving team earned a pair of top-six relay finishes as the swimming events at SEC Championships began Tuesday night at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center. The Aggies remain in first through two days of competition with 199 points.
Baylor Nelson clocked the second-fastest time in program history in the 200 free as the leadoff on the 800 free relay, going 1:32.38. He was joined on the relay by Trey Dickey, Collin Fuchs and Carter Nelson as the quartet placed sixth with a time of 6:19.01.
The 200 medley relay team of Thomas Shomper, Alex Sanchez, Connor Foote and Fuchs got the meet started with a sixth-place finish, clocking in at 1:23.91. Sanchez's 50 breast split of 23.42 was a career-best and stands as the third-fastest in program history, while Foote lowered his program-best 50 fly split with a time of 19.90.
