Aggies Add Three to 2024 Signing Class

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's swimming & diving program announced the addition of one swimmer and two divers to the Class of 2024 Wednesday. Niko Jankovic, Jaxon Bowshire and Leonardo Garcia will join fellow signees Travis Gulledge, Chase Swearingen, Ben Sytsma, Seth Tolentino and Jacob Wimberly in Aggieland ahead of the 2024-25 season.
Niko Jankovic – Zagreb, Croatia – Free
Jankovic holds the Croatian national long course record in the 200m free with a time of 1:48.27 and adds a person-best of 49.95 in the 100m free. He is a member of the 4x200m free relay team that clocked a national record 7:22.83 last summer at the Croatian Age Group Championships. He also boasts top short course times of 1:44.51 in the 200m free and 3:46.05 in the 400m free. Earlier this month Jankovic competed in the 200m free at the World Aquatics Championships in Doha. Last summer at the LEN European U23 Championships he placed ninth in the 200m free final with a time of 1:49.83.
Jaxon Bowshire – Adelaide, Australia – Diving
Bowshire is a member of the Diving Australia National Team and competed in Doha for World Aquatics Championships earlier this month. He is also in action at the first stop of the World Aquatics Diving World Cup in Montreal. He has earned Diver of the Year for his age group in the Australian Junior Elite Championships every year from 2018 to 2024. At the 2023 Australian Elite Junior Championships he placed first on the 3-meter and 10-meter springboards as well as the 10-meter platform. In 2022, Bowshire competed at the FINA World Junior Diving Championships where he placed sixth and prior to that earned a bronze medal in the team event at the FINA World Cup in Berlin.
Leonardo Garcia – Cali, Colombia – Diving
Garcia comes to Aggieland following a three-year stint at Florida after beginning his career at Missouri. A five-time All-American, he has qualified for the NCAA Championships in each of his four previous collegiate seasons. Garcia placed sixth at NCAA Championships last season with a score of 366.35 on platform and advanced to the consolation final on the 1-meter. He made his podium debut at SEC Championships as a senior, earning a bronze medal on platform with a score of 418.65. He has advanced to the A-final on platform at SECs every season and posted a top-11 score on the 1-meter in all three seasons at Florida. Internationally, Garcia represented Colombia at the Word Aquatics Championships in Doha earlier this month. A graduate transfer, Garcia earned his degree in telecommunications from Florida in the spring of 2023.
