
Nelson Takes Down School Record With Top-Three Finish on Day Three at NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS – Texas A&M's Baylor Nelson used a school record time in the 400 IM to notch a top-three finish and lead the Aggies on day three of NCAA Championships Friday night at the Indiana University Natatorium. The Aggies currently sit in 16th with 62 points.
Nelson got the evening session started in the 400 IM final and registered his highest individual finish at NCAAs. After lowering his personal best at SEC Championships to become a two-time gold medalist in the event, Nelson took it one step further as he lowered the school record with a time of 3:37.46 to place third and earn the fourth individual All-America honor of his career.
In the next event, Connor Foote touched the wall in 44.87 in the 100 fly consolation final, placing 11th to pick up Honorable Mention All-America accolades.
Victor Povzner locked up the last spot on the 3-meter to advance to finals and went on to place sixth with a score of 404.50 to close out his collegiate career as a seven-time All-American.
A&M picked up its third Honorable Mention All-America accolades of the week on a relay as Tyler Hulet, Alex Sanchez, Foote and Ben Scholl clocked in at 3:04.68 to finish 14th.
