BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – For the third straight season and 25th time in program history, the No. 3 Texas A&M baseball team is headed to the regional final after defeating Texas 4-2 in 11 innings Saturday night from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park in the NCAA Bryan-College Station Regional.
With the bases loaded in the top half of the 11th, Ted Burton put the Aggies (46-13) in front for the first time on the night with an infield RBI single down the third base line. The Maroon & White tacked on an insurance run during the next at-bat as Jace LaViolette crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
In the bottom half, Evan Aschenbeck sat the Longhorns (36-23) down in order to seal the 4-2 victory.

Texas struck first in the opening frame with a leadoff homer to left center.
Following an immaculate inning from Prager in the bottom half of the fourth, the Aggies evened the game with a solo homer off the bat of Caden Sorrell in the fifth. The freshman's ninth long ball of the year traveled 360 feet and left the bat at 96 mph.
In the sixth, the Longhorns regained the lead, 2-1, with a two-out solo home run over the wall in left.
A pair of costly throwing errors by the Longhorn shortstop in the eighth allowed the Maroon & White to tie the game at 2-2. Braden Montgomery, who reached on the first throwing error, scored the game-tying run on the second with two outs.
Texas threatened in the bottom half of the 10th as the winning run stood only 90 feet away, but Aschenbeck worked out of trouble to keep the game even at 2-2.
