The Aggies (47-13) are making their 10th Super Regional appearance in program history after sweeping through the Bryan-College Station Regional, defeating Grambling (8-0), Texas (4-2) and Louisiana (9-4). The regional title marked the 11th in Texas A&M history.
Braden Montgomery was named the Most Outstanding Player of the regional after going 6-for-15 with a homer and a team-best five RBI. Caden Sorrell, Evan Aschenbeck, Shane Sdao and Ted Burton joined Montgomery on the Bryan-College Station Regional All-Tournament Team.
In its 38 postseason appearances, the Aggies have compiled a 98-43 record and a 47-16 mark at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. In Super Regional action, the Maroon & White are 12-12 all-time and have won four series, including their last two appearances in 2017 and 2022.
Under Head Coach Jim Schlossnagle, the Aggies are 12-4 in the NCAA Tournament and have advanced to the Super Regionals twice in the last three seasons.
Saturday's series opener marks the first meeting all-time between the Maroon & White and the Ducks (40-18). Against Pac-12 opponents this season, Texas A&M is 3-0.
Under first year pitching coach Max Weiner, the Aggie pitching staff has lowered its ERA by nearly two runs. The Maroon & White rank first in shutouts (11), first in 1-1 strike percentage (69%), fourth in strikeout-to-walk ratio (3.24), fourth in WHIP (1.24), fifth in ERA (3.85), ninth in strikeouts per nine innings (10.7), 10th in 0-0 strike percentage (62%), 10th in hits allowed per nine (7.88) and 12th in walks allowed per nine (3.32). The staff's 11 shutouts are the second most in program history.
Offensively, Texas A&M ranks fourth nationally in homers (130), fourth in homers per game (2.17), fourth in walks (378), eighth in slugging percentage (.559), 12th in runs (521) and 18th in scoring (8.7).
