NAOTB: Kennedy Clark
Each week, Madeline Osborn of 12thMan.com checks in with a newcomer on the Texas A&M soccer team.
This week, Xavier transfer Kennedy Clark, a northern Kentucky native who brings loads of talent of the Aggie midfield.

What is your favorite thing about being in Aggieland so far?
My favorite thing is the team culture and the community we have here. Everyone is so supportive, whether it’s on the field or off the field.
What are your career aspirations after soccer?
After I’m done with soccer I want to go into some type of medicine. I’m not sure what exactly, but I want to help others in some way.
At what part of the transfer process did you decide to come to Texas A&M?
When I took my visit here, I fell in love with it. I felt like I just had to be here. I just knew this is where I was meant to be.
What did you like most about Texas A&M on your visit?
The coaching staff was just amazing and the vibe of the school felt right. It felt like a good fit for me.

Cincinnati chili. That’s the question?
It’s good. That’s all I can say.
Describe it to the untrained palate.
There’s a lot of things that people do with it. You can make like a cheese coney with chili or you can put it on spaghetti. That’s a weird concept for a lot of people, but it’s pretty good.
How do you like yours? And where’s the best place to get it?
II probably like it on spaghetti the best. I feel like I should say Skyline is the best place, but I like it homemade the best.

What have the coaches been working with you on a far as personal player development?
Mainly we’ve been working on opening up and playing forward – putting pressure on the back line and driving at people.
What would you say your best soccer attribute is?
It’s probably my ability to turn people – getting on the ball and going forward to create for others.

At what point did you realize you could play soccer at the elite college level?
I would say around sixth grade. That’s when I got really competitive and started putting a lot more effort into soccer.
What did you know about Texas A&M before you looked at the school?
I just knew it was a really big school, but I didn’t know too much about it just being so far away. Once I entered the transfer portal I tried to learn everything I could. From everything I read, I could tell it was a special place.
