Aug 05, 2024 | Women's Golf
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M women's golf and head coach Gerrod Chadwell announced the addition of SEC veteran Kynadie Adams on Monday.
The incoming junior played her first two years of collegiate golf at Alabama where she competed in 14 tournaments for the Crimson Tide and logged a 75.55 stroke average.
"I chose Texas A&M because it is an environment I believe I can get better in and I am surrounded by coaches and teammates who are going to push me to be my best every day to help me strive for my goals," Adams said. "I felt so at home and everyone I met on my visit was so welcoming. It is a place I can see myself growing and learning around coaches and teammates who are some of the best in the world."
During her freshman campaign, the Nashville native was named SEC Freshman of the Week once and earned WGCA All-America Scholar honors. Her weekly accolade was due to her stellar outing at the Illini Women's Invitational where she tied for fourth with an 11-under 205.
Adams played in three tournaments last season, including the NCAA Cle Elum Regional where she led her team with an 11-over 227 and placed 34th to pace the squad.
"From the strength coaches to the 12th Man, everyone cares about women's golf and that was something that I truly haven't seen before that made this place special," Adams added. "I am looking forward to new opportunities and experiences. I am excited to be surrounded by a hardworking team and see how good I can get on the course. I am so thankful for this opportunity that Coach G has given me and I think God has some special things in store for this team at A&M."
Adams came into college as the No. 20 ranked player by the Rolex American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). She qualified for match play and reached the round of 16 at the 73rd U.S. Girls Junior Championship in 2022
