Four Aggies headed to tackle Westwood Golf Club
HOUSTON – The No. 19. Texas A&M men's golf team is sending four Aggies to participate in the Bayou City Collegiate Classic as individuals Monday and Tuesday at Westwood Golf Club.
The A&M contingent headed to tackle the par-72, 7,184-yard course includes Dallas Hankamer, Alex Long, Jake Maggert and Jack Usner. Long is making his collegiate debut. Hankamer and Maggert are both playing their first tournaments of the 2024-25 campaign.
Eleven schools are fielding full teams, including Abilene Christian, Houston, Houston Christian, Lamar, Louisiana-Monroe, Rice, Samford, Sam Houston, UT Arlington, UTRGV and Wichita State. Individuals from LSU, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State are also making the trek to Westwood Golf Club.
Monday's action commences with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start with A&M players teeing off at holes 14-16.

COURSE
Westwood Golf Club opened in 1928 as a nine-hole course designed by renowned Texas golf professional and architect John Bredemus. In 1957, the club was expanded 18 holes with a circuit featuring shifting terrain and fairways lined by hardwood trees.

Dallas Hankamer – Senior – Temple, Texas
- Making first appearance since the 2023 Aggie Invitational.
- Redshirted for the 2023-24 season.
- Posted a 74.09 scoring average over 11 rounds in 2022-23.
- Won the Badger Invitational Individual tournament in September 2022 with a 1-under 141 at Pleasant View Golf Course.
- Competed in four tournaments as a freshman, tying for third at the Washington County Individual in Hartford, Wisconsin (10-under, 134).
Alex Long – Freshman – Lakewood Ranch, Florida
- Making collegiate debut.
- Three-time participant in the USGA Junior Amateur from 2021-23.
- Claimed the 2021 Florida High School Athletic Association Class 1A Championship while leading St. Stephen's Episcopal School to team title.
- Named a 2023 Rolex Junior All-America Honorable Mention and was ranked No. 26 in the Rolex AJGA Rankings on signing day.
- Won three AJGA tournament titles, including two victories in 2023.
Jake Maggert – Sophomore – The Woodlands, Texas
- Posted a 75.33 scoring average in 12 rounds of action through four tournaments in 2023-24.
- Making his first appearance of the 2024-25 campaign.
- Boasted a stellar career at The Woodlands Christian Academy where he won three consecutive TAPPS state titles from 2021-23 along with fellow Aggies Aaron Pounds and Jack Usner.
- Finished third individually at the 2023 TAPPS 5A state tournament.
- Father Jeff Maggert is a former Texas A&M golfer who earned All-America honors and has played professionally since 1986, winning three PGA Tour events along with claiming a pair of majors on the PGA Tour Champions circuit.
Jack Usner – Sophomore – The Woodlands, Texas
- Posted a 76.50 scoring average in 12 rounds of action through four tournaments in 2023-24
- Finished t-10th at the Southern Junior Championship in June 2023.
- Boasted a stellar career at The Woodlands Christian Academy where he won three consecutive TAPPS state titles from 2021-23 along with fellow Aggies Aaron Pounds and Jack Usner.
- Advanced to the Round of 32 at the USGA Amateur Four-Ball Championship teamed with Aaron Pounds in both 2022 and 2023.
- Qualified for the 2022 USGA Junior Amateur.
- Last time out – finished t-66th at the Sahalee Players Championship, firing a 15-over 231 (79-78-74).
