Aggie Duo Earns Spot at Dash Preseason Camp

HOUSTON – Texas A&M soccer standouts Kate Colvin and MaKhiya McDonald were invited to the Houston Dash's preseason camp the squad announced Saturday.

HOUSTON – Texas A&M soccer standouts Kate Colvin and MaKhiya McDonald were invited to the Houston Dash's preseason camp the squad announced Saturday.
 
Colvin and McDonald were among six players added as non-roster invitees. The pair will work to earn a spot on a Dash roster that includes former Aggie All-SEC midfielder Barbara Olivieri.
 
The non-roster invitees join the team early next week to prepare for the first preseason games of the year. Houston competes at the Coachella Valley Invitational later in the month and the Dash opens the season Friday, March 14 at Shelly Energy Stadium against the Washington Spirit.
 
Colvin, who earned her bachelor's degree in marketing – analytics and consulting last May, was a Super Aggie, using her Covid campaign to play five years in the Maroon & White. She recorded 78 Aggie caps, including 42 starts, producing 36 points on 12 goals and 12 assists. Hampered by injuries her final two seasons, Colvin was a menace to opponents when healthy. As a junior in 2022, she started all 21 matches, recoding 16 points on four goals and eight assists.
 
McDonald made the 12th Man proud with her four years of service in the Maroon & White. She registered 80 Aggie caps, including 53 starts. She tallied 32 career points on 12 goals, including five game-winners, and eight assists. Her most successful campaign also came in 2022, playing all 21 matches, including 14 starts, compiling 12 points on five goals and two assists. McDonald is slated to graduate this year with a bachelor's degree in communication/journalism.
 
The Dash enter 2025 looking to improve on its 14th place finish from a year ago.
