No. 2 Aggies Fall at No. 7 SMU, 13-6

The No. 2 Texas A&M equestrian team fell to No. 7 SMU, 13-6, Saturday afternoon at the Dallas Equestrian Center.

DALLAS – The No. 2 Texas A&M equestrian team fell to No. 7 SMU, 13-6, Saturday afternoon at the Dallas Equestrian Center.

The Aggies (5-3) took an early 3-2 lead in Fences behind strong performances from Kate Egan (80), Alexa Leong (78.5) and Devon Thomas (80). In Reining, Isabelle Gonzalez posted the lone point for the Aggies with a score of 69 on Shiney as the Maroon & White trailed the Mustangs (4-4) 6-4 at the break.

Following the half, Devon Thomas and Ellie Gerbrandt picked up the remaining points for Texas A&M in Flat and Horsemanship, respectively.

The Aggies remain on the road as they travel to face No. 8 South Carolina Saturday, Feb. 8 at 10 a.m. at One Wood Farm.
