Aggies Earn No. 1 Spot in USA Today Preseason Poll

For the first time in program history, the Texas A&M baseball team will open the year as the unanimous preseason No. 1 team following the release of the USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll on Tuesday.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – For the first time in program history, the Texas A&M baseball team will open the year as the unanimous preseason No. 1 team following the release of the USA Today Coaches Preseason Poll on Tuesday.

The Aggies earned the preseason No. 1 spot from all five major publications and are the first SEC team to accomplish the feat since the 2023 LSU Tigers. Texas A&M is one of six SEC teams ranked inside the Top 10, which leads all conference.

The Aggies are coming off a historic run in 2024 that saw them reach the College World Series Finals for the first time in program history. The trip to Omaha marked the Maroon & White's second in the last three seasons and eighth overall. Texas A&M is entering its first season under head coach Michael Earley, who helped turn the Aggies into one of the most powerful and potent offenses in the country during his tenure as an assistant the last three seasons.

Texas A&M opens its 2025 slate Friday, Feb. 14 against Elon at Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.
