Saturday's contest marks the 37th meeting all-time between the two programs. The Aggies (5-3, 1-2) lead the series 27-9 and have won 12 straight against the Gamecocks (2-3, 0-3). In the fall, the Maroon & White secured a commanding 17-2 victory over South Carolina and swept the MOP awards.

Senior Ellie Gerbrandt picked up Western Ride of the Week honors from the National Collegiate Equestrian Association following her performance at No. 7 SMU. Gerbrandt recorded a score of 74 on Sam en route to earning the weekly honor.
