LIHUE, Hawai'i – The No. 26 Texas A&M men's golf team continues its spring journey in the 2024-25 campaign, heading to Kauai for the John A. Burns Intercollegiate on the Ocean Course at Hokuala.

The 17-team field features a talented mix of programs with a strong west coast flavor. The list of combatants includes teams from the Pac-12, ACC, Big 12, Mountain West and West Coast Conference, along with No. 10 Illinois from the Big Ten. In total, five teams in the top 30 are competing. The SEC is represented by Texas A&M and Missouri.

Texas A&M's lineup is headed by Golf Channel Preseason All-American Phichaskn Maichon who enters the fray slotted No. 11 in the PGA TOUR University rankings. He is joined by Aaron Pounds, Wheaton Ennis, Michael Heidelbaugh and Jamie Montojo in the starting five. Vishnu Sadagopan and Jack Usner are competing as individuals.

The Aggies have found success over the years at one of the nation's premier golf tournaments. Texas A&M has secured three wins at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate, including 2009, '18 and '20. Ol' Sarge's charges have also celebrated individual victories from Andrea Pavan in 2010, John Hurley in 2011, Chandler Phillips with back-to-back wins in 2017 and 2018, and Sam Bennett in 2023 (198).

The Maroon & White head to Hawaii riding back-to-back tournament titles. The Aggies wrapped up the fall with a win at the Furman Intercollegiate and opened the spring with a triumph at the Sea Best Invitational. Texas A&M is attempting to win three consecutive tournaments for the first time since the beginning of the 2017-18 season when they claimed victory at the Badger Invitational, Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational and Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills.

The Aggies had five players finish in the top 10 at the Sea Best invitational. In addition to Maichon bringing home his third career win with an 11-under 202, Montojo placed fifth followed by Ennis in sixth, Sadagopan in seventh and Heidelbaugh in ninth.
