BIRMINGHAM – Texas A&M swimmers Shawn Mohseni and Chloe Stepanek were named to their respective 2025 SEC Swimming & Diving Community Service Teams, announced by the league office Tuesday. The community service teams highlight a student-athlete from each league school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts.Â
Both Mohseni and Stepanek have worked with university-based service organizations such as REVved Up to Read, where they traveled to local elementary schools to read to students, and AggiesCAN, the largest student-athlete volunteer run canned food drive in the nation.Â
Mohseni represents the Aggies on the men's side for the second consecutive year. The junior excelled in his efforts of giving back to the community by recording 106 service hours and leading by example as the SAAC Vice President of Selfless Service. Mohseni has worked with TAMU Build to help construct Texas Aggie Medical Clinics as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the 1999 Bonfire incident and has volunteered with the Aggieland Humane Society where he has cared for sheltered dogs and assisted staff. Additionally, Mohseni has worked with Special Olympics Texas and Sport for Kids Sports Fest. The Mansfield, Texas, native is working on a degree in biomedical science and has earned Texas A&M Athletic Director and SEC Honor Roll achievements.Â
Stepanek is named to the league's community service team for the first time in her career. In addition to her work with REVved Up to Read and AggiesCAN, Stepanek has volunteered with The Big Event, the largest one-day, student-run community service project where she cleaned yards and houses of those in need in the local community. The Northport, New York, native is a team captain and team SAAC representative, while also serving as an ambassador for the 12th Man Foundation and their 1922 fund. Stepanek works as a student technician at the Huffines Institute for Sports Medicine and Human Performance and has previously served as a teaching assistant for Physiology for Biomedical Engineers and Biomedical Anatomy. In the pool, she is a 13-time All-American, school record holder in the 200 free and has medaled five times at SEC Championships. She has been named SEC Swimming & Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year each of the last two seasons and is a CSCAA First Team Scholar All-American, as well as a CSC First Team Academic All-American. Stepanek graduated with a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences and is working on a master's degree in exercise physiology.Â
