BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – Behind a scoreless start from Ryan Prager, the No. 1 Texas A&M baseball team claimed the series opener against Cal Poly, 6-1, on a frigid Friday afternoon from Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park.

Prager earned his first win of the 2025 campaign after tossing five scoreless innings to go along with a pair of strikeouts. Through 10 innings of work this season, the left-hander has not allowed a run. On the offensive end, Wyatt Henseler reached base safely in all five plate appearances as the senior finished 3-for-3 with two hit-by-pitches and a run scored.

The Aggies struck first in the opening frame as Jace LaViolette, who reached on a walk, came home on a Hayden Schott RBI groundout.

In the fifth, Gavin Grahovac added to the lead with a solo home run to left that exited the bat at 111 mph. The sophomore's second long ball of the season traveled 367 feet and had a launch angle of 19.09 degrees. After LaViolette reached on a walk and Henseler followed with a single, Schott plated both runners with an RBI single up the middle to stretch the advantage to 4-0.

LaViolette extended the lead to 5-0 in the sixth with an RBI double to left center that plated Grahovac, who reached on a hit-by-pitch.

The Mustangs (1-4) pushed across a run in the seventh but was quickly matched by the Maroon & White in the bottom half. Terrence Kiel II reached on a hit-by-pitch and stole second before coming around to score on an RBI double from Jacob Galloway.

In the ninth, Cal Poly threatened as they put a pair of runners on base but Brad Rudis retired the final two batters to seal the 6-1 victory.
