Aggies Head to Final Round of Southern Highlands in Eighth Place

LAS VEGAS – The Texas A&M men's golf team wrapped up the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate in eighth place following Monday's action.
 
The Aggies registered a 10-over 298 at the par-72, 7,510-yard Southern Highlands Golf Club. The two day tally stands at 24-over 600 for Ol' Sarge's charges. No. 2 Auburn leads the tournament at 2-under 574. The top four also includes host UNLV (+1), Pepperdine (+11) and New Mexico (+12).
 
Wheaton Ennis and Aaron Pounds were Monday's top performers for the Aggies, both checking in with tallies of 2-over 74. Michel Heidelbaugh and Jaime Montojo posted rounds of 3-over 75.
 
Heidelbaugh is the top Aggie on the individual leader board. His two-day score of 4-over 148 puts him in a tie for 16^th place. Montojo and Pounds are tied for 31st place at 6-over 150.
 
UNLV's Caden Fioroni leads the field at 10-under 134 following back-to-back rounds of 67.
 
For Tuesday's final round, the Aggies are paired with seventh-place Illinois and ninth-place USC. The groups start at 11 a.m. from hole No. 1
