NEW ORLEANS – Texas A&M track & field head coach Pat Henry was named the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Central Region Men's Coach of the Year, the organization announced Thursday.

Coach Henry added to his long list of coaching honors after being named men's coach of the year following the Aggies first SEC Indoor Championship title. His men's team accumulated five gold medals, three silver and one bronze at the conference meet, including both the 400m and 4x400m relay crowns which fall in under his event group.

At the national meet, he directed his program to another top-10 national finish, as the group claimed 20 points for a 10th-place result. His squad concluded the meet with 12 All-America honors, eight of which were First Team and four Second Team.

Coach Henry and his team now shift their attention to the outdoor season, where they open their campaign at the UTSA Invitational in San Antonio, Texas, March 21-22.
