NASHVILLE – The Texas A&M baseball team dropped a pitchers' duel to No. 22 Vanderbilt, 3-1, Friday night at Hawkins Field.

Justin Lamkin (1-2) suffered the loss despite delivering seven strong innings of three-run baseball. The lefty allowed only one walk and struck out three on the night. In relief, Kaiden Wilson pitched a scoreless eighth.

For the second straight contest, the Aggies (11-11, 0-5) struck first as Bear Harrison belted a solo homer to left center in the second. The long ball marked the sophomore's third in the last three games.

In the bottom half, the Commodores (18-5, 3-2) evened the score at 1-1 with an RBI groundout.

Following four scoreless frames, Vanderbilt scratched across a pair of runs in the seventh to take a 3-1 advantage.Â

After a pair of runners reached base in the fourth, the Maroon & White were limited to three baserunners and struck out 13 times over the final five frames as they dropped the middle game.Â
