The Wildcats (17-9, 4-5) struck first in the opening frame for the third straight game, taking a 1-0 lead on an RBI double. The Aggies (13-14, 1-8) quickly answered in the bottom half with an RBI single from Caden Sorrell and a sacrifice fly from Bear Harrison to grab a 2-1 advantage.

In the second, Kentucky responded with three runs on three hits to jump back in front 4-2. The Wildcats added insurance in the fifth as four runs came across to score, stretching their advantage to 8-2. On the mound, the Maroon & White allowed three hits, three hit-by-pitches and a walk in the inning.

Texas A&M cut the deficit to 8-5 in the seventh behind a two-run triple from Terrence Kiel II and an RBI single from Wyatt Henseler. Kentucky answered in the eighth, tacking on two more runs to its lead, 10-5, via a solo homer and RBI fielder's choice.
