TUSCALOOSA – The No. 2 Texas A&M women's tennis team wraps up the road portion of its SEC schedule with Sunday's 11 a.m. match against the Crimson Tide at Alabama Tennis Stadium.

The Aggies roll into town on a five-match win streak following Friday's 4-0 home victory against the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Texas A&M enters the fray with a 20-2 overall mark and 11-1 league ledger. The Maroon & White trail first-place No. 1 Georgia (12-0) by one match in the standings with three contests left on the schedule.

Texas A&M features back-to-back SEC Player of the Year, Mary Stoiana. Rated No. 2 in the nation in singles action, Stoiana has claimed SEC Player of the Week recognition three times this spring. She boasts a 21-4 record, including a 17-4 mark against ranked opponents and a 13-2 record in dual action.

The Maroon & White have four other players slotted in the ITA Collegiate Rankings. Nicole Khirin checks in at No. 11 followed by Lucciana Perez (No. 46), Mia Kupres (No. 57) and Daria Smetannikov (No. 88).

Two-time SEC Freshman of the Week Lexington Reed is emerging as a force in the back half of the lineup. She owns a 23-6 mark, including an 8-1 record in SEC action.

The Aggies field two ranked doubles team with Stoiana/Perez checking in at No. 39 and Kupres/Smetannikov rated No. 65. The court 3 tandem of Khirin/Reed may be undervalued, sporting 10-2 overall record, including 7-1 in SEC play.

Despite sitting at No. 33 in the national ITA rankings, Alabama needs a late surge to get into NCAA Tournament play. The Crimson Tide's record sits below the .500 mark at 9-11 overall and 3-8 in SEC play. Alabama has lost seven consecutive matches entering Sunday's action. No. 64 Petra Sedlackova is the Crimson Tide's lone ranked singles player. In doubles play Maria Martinez Vaquero/Maria Andrienko are ranked No. 66.
