BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M soccer team will open the 2025 season at home against former Big 12 foe Baylor, head coach G Guerrieri announced Friday. The match is set for Thursday, August 14 at Ellis Field with kickoff time yet to be determined.
Â
"We're always excited about kicking off a new season," Guerrieri said. "Starting with a home match against a traditional rival like Baylor is going to be a big challenge. It will be a great game for the fans. It should be a really fun way for the 12th Man to get amped up for the 2025 season right out of the gate."
Â
It will be the third consecutive season the teams have met after the heated rivalry laid dormant from 2014-22. The last meeting at Ellis Field drew an enthusiastic crowd of 6,743 in August 2023.
Â
The teams played to a 1-1 draw at Ellis Field in 2023. The Bears stole one from the Aggies, 1-0, in Waco last year with an 85th minute.
Â
The Aggies own a 14-5-3 record in the all-time series. Baylor logged a four-win stretch from 1997-2000, but Texas A&M responded by going 12-0-1 from 2001 until their last match as Big 12 brethren in 2011.
