BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – No. 1 overall seed Texas A&M was overcome by a late Liberty rally falling, 8-5, Saturday afternoon at Davis Diamond. The Aggies face an elimination game against the winner of Marist and Saint Francis elimination game, Saturday night at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

Texas A&M (46-10) punched first with a crooked second frame scoring four runs on two hits and two errors. Amari Harper earned a walk, while KK Dement singled up the middle and Allie Enright reached on a fielding error to load the bases with one out. Kramer Eschete reached on a fielder's choice to score Harper to break the ice, 1-0, while Kelsey Mathis blooped a single to shallow right field to double the score, 2-0. Kennedy Powell reached on a fielding error to score Enright and Koko Wooley reached on a fielder's choice as the Aggies led 4-0 through two innings of action.

After a pair of scoreless frames, Liberty plated five runs on four hits and one error, including a two-out 2-RBI single and two-run homer as the Aggies trailed, 8-5, heading to the bottom of the sixth. The Aggies stranded two runners in the sixth and one the seventh before suffering the defeat.
