D1 Softball Names Perez to All-America Second Team

D1 Softball has named Mya Perez to its All-America Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION – D1 Softball has named Mya Perez to its All-America Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Perez capped a standout campaign by earning her second All-America honor after she was named to the Softball America All-America second team last week.

The Corona, California, native ranked among the top 20 players in the nation in both on-base percentage (.561) and RBI (73), while earning All-SEC First Team honors and NFCA Central All-Region Second Team accolades. Her 73 RBI set a new Texas A&M single-season record, and her .424 batting average ranks third all-time in program history.

Perez was especially dominant against ranked opponents, hitting .400 with seven home runs and six doubles, producing a .760 slugging percentage. She added 28 RBI, 15 runs and 20 walks in those matchups.

In Southeastern Conference play, she ranked second in on-base percentage (.541), fifth in batting average (.393) and seventh in slugging percentage (.721). Perez was the only Aggie to collect multiple SEC weekly honors as Texas A&M set a program record with seven total weekly conference awards during the season.
