NEW YORK – Former Texas A&M outfielder Braden Montgomery has been named to the 2025 All-Star Futures Game roster for the American League, as announced by Major League Baseball on Monday.

The switch-hitter is currently ranked as the No. 4 prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization and No. 32 among the MLB. Montgomery is the first Aggie to earn a spot in the MLB All-Star Futures Game since current Texas A&M assistant Cliff Pennington in 2008.

In his first minor league season, Montgomery has compiled a .274/.352/.468 slash line between the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers (Single-A) and Winston-Salem Dash (High-A). The Madison, Mississippi, native has also recorded a pair of triples, 10 home runs, 17 doubles and 49 RBI. On the basepaths, Montgomery has swiped nine bases and scored 36 times.

In his lone season in Aggieland, Montgomery helped guide the Maroon & White to the 2024 College World Series with an All-American campaign. Montgomery started 61 games for the Aggies before suffering a season-ending injury in the Bryan-College Station Super Regional. The All-American belted 27 homers and drove in 85 RBI, while slashing .322/.454/.733.

The 2025 All-Star Futures Game is scheduled for Saturday, July 12 at 3 p.m. CST at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia. It will air live on MLB Network and be simulcast on MLB.TV, MLB.com and via the MLB app.
