ATLANTA – The Texas A&M women's basketball team earned 2024-25 WBCA Academic Honor Roll Special Mention distinction, the organization announced Tuesday.

The Aggies turned in a 3.422 GPA for the 2024-25 academic year, which garnered special mention recognition. The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2024-25 season is the 30th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.

The Maroon & White's team GPA ranked fifth in the SEC and 10 of the 11 student-athletes on last year's team earned either SEC Spring or First-Year Academic Honor Roll distinction during the 2024-25 campaign.

Texas A&M is led by Olympic gold medal winning coach and 2025 Carol Eckman Integrity in Coaching Award recipient Joni Taylor. Taylor enters her fourth year guiding the Aggies and is joined by returner Lauren Ware who paced the squad and was third in the SEC in blocks per game (1.75) during the 2024-25 season.

Taylor also signed seven transfers, including Fatmata Janneh, who led the country in defensive rebounds (9.7) last season, and the reigning MAAC Defensive Player of the Year Ny'Ceara Pryor, who produced the most steals per game in the nation (4.1) last year.
